主要从事含能材料分子设计与计算模拟以及相关理论方法的建立与评价工作。

先后主持或参与完成了包括国家自然科学基金、973、863、086在内的20多个科研项目。

共发表论文290余篇，其中195篇为2005年晋升教授/2007年评为博导以来指导硕士和博士研究生发表，大多数论文被SCI收录。

在材料科学与工程以及化学工程与技术学科培养了19名博士生，其中10多人已毕业，3人获得过国家奖学金，3篇博士论文被评为校优，多人被评为校优秀毕业生。

目前指导了2名硕士生，4名博士生。

团队目前有教授1人，副教授3人，研究生若干人。
